Backing Boris

boris.jpgWith his favourite countries apparently Cuba and Venezuela, and some at best controversial figures he has welcomed to London, Ken Livingstone is a most curious individual to be mayor of what arguably is the world’s capital city.

His whole life has been based on a left-wing political agenda; by comparison somebody like Mayor Bloomberg of New York is a hugely successful businessman in his own right. And around Ken appears to be a very political support structure indeed.

Last night, Conservative City Circle, which I co-chair with Michael Spencer, hosted a reception for Boris, for young London professionals. Over 400 attended a hugely successful evening, with Boris making a rousing and very well received speech. As amusing as he can be, the points he made yesterday evening were serious and heartfelt.

London deserves better. Boris needs not only votes but lots of active supporters. So register with www.backboris.com

Ken can then spend more time in some retirement hacienda in Havana, where undoubtedly he will be well received.
